Hi, my name is Edgar Williams, and I'm a gamer. I'm not sure of the
exact moment I became a gamer. Maybe it was when I first played Ultima III on my Apple IIe
and eventually defeated Exodus in the Isle of Fire. Maybe it was
later, when I slaughtered nazi's in Wolfenstein 3D or hellish creatures in Doom. Or
perhaps it was when I guided countless civilizations from their very
beginnings to the 21st century in Civilization II. Almost certainly
it was before I discovered the joys of playing Diablo (and later Diablo
II) online. And let's not forget about console games.
I'll never forget the endless hours spent playing games on my intellivision system. Let's not only dwell on
electronic entertainment either. From checkers, chess, and
backgammon to risk, carcassonne, and settlers
of catan, I'm up for them all.
So, if you like games, especially strategy
games, puzzle games, and retro games, you're OK by me. When I was
young I wanted to write games for a living, but life does not always work
out they way we envision it when we are teenagers. I did end up
working with computers though. For the past 18+ years I've worked
as a computer programmer for a large manufacturing business. I've
been lucky enough to have a job I'm happy doing. Often times
computer programming is like solving a puzzle. That's the way I
like to treat it anyways.
But I never lost the desire to write my own
games. It's been a very rewarding and entertaining hobby. I
will post my more successful creations here. I've decided to make
them freeware for a few reasons. It's definitely an easier
distribution method (after all, I enjoy WRITING the games,
I really couldn't care less about MARKETING them). Also, there are more
sites that list freeware games than shareware or commercial games.
And, finally, I see it as a way of giving back to the gaming community
that has provided me with my 'fix' for so long.
So, welcome to Fast Eddie's Software.
I hope you enjoy your stay. And remember, the internet is TWO WAY
communication tool. If you have any comments, reactions, additions,
or just want to say Hi, please drop me a line by using the 'contact' page.
In fact I may even post some of these items on the site (with your
permission of course).
So, excelsior, live long and prosper, long days
and pleasant nights, game on, and most of all, have fun!
